Each piece within Sacred Vessels begins as a conversation between earth, water, fire, and hand. Some emerge from reclaimed clay once destined for larger sculptural works, carrying traces of previous stories within their walls. Others are formed from fresh clay, shaped slowly through repetition, intuition, and ritual. These are not objects of perfection.

Every vessel carries its own quiet spirit.
Created to live amongst flowers gathered at dawn, candles lit at dusk, salt kept for cleansing, water held for blessing, and offerings placed with intention. They belong on shelves worn smooth by sunlight, beside beds where dreams are remembered, upon altars assembled from treasured fragments of a life well lived. Only the slow alchemy of hand-built clay transformed through fire.
The Collections
Capsule Collections

Each capsule collection begins with a theme drawn from landscape, season, ritual, or memory. The forms emerge slowly through sketchbooks, field notes, and observations gathered while wandering the Cape coast and beyond. Every collection tells a complete story through a small family of vessels.

Hand-built using stoneware and reclaimed clay from previous studio explorations. Natural oxides, slips, and satin glazes are selected to evoke weathered stone, sea-worn shells, sun-bleached earth, and the shifting tones of the natural world.

Collections are released in limited seasonal gatherings throughout the year. Once a collection has sold, it becomes part of the studio archive and is rarely repeated in the same form, ensuring every release remains distinct.

Created for daily acts of presence. These vessels may hold flowers, incense, candles, water, herbs, offerings, or simply occupy a space as a reminder to slow down and notice the sacred within the ordinary.

These larger pieces exist between object, art and sculpture. While they may retain an element of function, their primary purpose is to create presence, contemplation, and dialogue within a space.

Each work is built slowly over many days or weeks using traditional hand-building techniques. Forms evolve intuitively, responding to the clay itself rather than following rigid plans or templates.

Constructed using premium stoneware and specialist clay bodies selected specifically for scale and durability. Surface treatments may include carved textures, slips, oxides, and layered glazes developed uniquely for the piece.

Every commission begins with intention. Through discussion, I explore the story, symbolism, location, and purpose behind the piece, allowing the vessel to emerge from a meaningful creative exchange.

References to place, memory, ritual, nature, or personal milestones can be subtly woven into the work through form, texture, scale, and surface treatment, creating a deeply personal object.

Each commissioned vessel is built, dried, fired, glazed, and fired again by hand. Depending on complexity and scale, commissions generally require between 6–12 weeks from approval to completion.
